Strong, flexible, and built for Southern Oregon weather.
How a Paver Patio Is Built to Last
What you see is the finished paver surface. What keeps it level, stable, and performing for decades is the base preparation, edge restraint, and proper installation.
Why the base matters
Pavers rely on a deep, well-compacted gravel base. Without proper excavation, compaction, and grading, the patio can settle, shift, or develop low spots over time. We start every project with a solid base sized for the soil conditions and expected use.
The right materials and methods
We use quality interlocking pavers, strong edge restraints, and polymeric sand (or appropriate joint material) so the surface stays tight and weed-resistant. The system flexes slightly with ground movement, which helps it resist cracking better than poured concrete in our climate of wet winters and occasional freezes.
What every job gets
A properly engineered and compacted base that prevents settling and shifting
Quality interlocking pavers selected for color, strength, and style
Strong edge restraints and correct joint material
Proper drainage and grading for Rogue Valley weather
Common Concerns
Cost — A custom paver patio costs more than basic poured concrete. You are paying for a flexible, repairable system with a deep base and professional installation designed to last decades.
Weeds and shifting — Poor installs allow movement and weeds. We use the right base depth, edge restraint, and joint material so the surface stays clean and locked in place.
Cracking — Unlike solid concrete, interlocking pavers can flex with the ground and are much less likely to crack. Individual pavers can also be replaced if ever needed.
Design options — Endless combinations of colors, patterns, borders, and textures let us match your home and create a unique look.
Drainage — Permeable paver options and proper grading help manage Rogue Valley rainfall and reduce runoff.
